Gnars are a new way to fund extreme athletes

We prefer a world where kids aren’t sold energy drinks by their heroes. So as a community of action sports enthusiasts, we’ve formed a DAO to rethink how extreme athletes get sponsored.

Gnars are NFTs on the Ethereum blockchain

Based on Nouns open source and CC0 artwork, they’re stored fully on-chain with no external dependencies. Each one gets you a DAO vote and memberships are available at auction, forever.

Gnars shredding into 2023, together

Gami has outlined some goals and ambitions he has for the DAO for 2023 and it’s safe to say that he’s hit the nail on the head as always. We have a handful of key items to continue working on and new projects to start moving into 2023. Check out the complete thoughts he shared here.

The thatsgnar.ly platform is undergoing continuous work by the collective team along with Gnars. The platform is in its early stages but is already showing great promise. There are a lot of details to work out but we are confident that it will be the perfect first implementation of the Revolution protocol.

- This is the first “Droposal” coming from Gnars DAO! Inspired by Nouns Proposal 190, this photo will be released as a Timed Open Edition for a price of 0.015 ETH for a period of 7 days. Proceeds will be split between Gnars DAO, Kevin Kowalski (skater pictured), and Tim Aguilar (photographer).

- This proposal comes from web-gnar, one of the founders of SkateHive. They have created a game that gets about 100 plays per day and is featured on GX Games homepage, called Quest for Stoken. This proposal requests to cover the costs to port the game for web and iOS platforms to expand its reach and incorporate Gnars characters, in-game POAPs, and more prizes down the road.

- These three are professional skiers based out of Salt Lake City, Utah. They are part of a street skiing crew called Child Labor, and have just passed their proposal to create over 20 minutes of edited videos along with 120+ clips that can be used in other Gnars content.

- Mari (@marinioac) is a nounish creator and athlete who has worked with the Lil Sisters Fund from Lil Nouns, Gnars with her work with TPM, and NounsBR. I suggest you read her proposal and allow her to explain her background as I won’t be able to do her justice in this paragraph!
