gm y’all!
Today’s post is going to look a little bit different than every other Sunday post since starting this humble lil newsletter in June of last year (33 weeks ago).
This past week, our Proposal to continue being funded for the Lil Nouns Newsletter was defeated.
What was interesting about it, is that we had the majority votes (498 to 60—if you take out Will the Whale’s 322 votes) and the majority of unique voters (20 to 5).
But, the Lil Nounders came in at the last minute with their vote: to Abstain. That decision defeated the vote and made me second-guess the support (I thought) I had. And reconsider what I should do with this newsletter.
Here is the reason they gave:
we highly appreciate Saturn for his work but given that there’s not that much going on around lils day to day, it might more beneficial to reorient newsletter/media strategy and repropose at a later date
So what do I do from here? I need your help!
There are ~370 of us, growing 12% month-over-month. Not insane. But not nothing.
One option: shift the focus of this writing to bring external communities into Lil Nouns.
I have always thought of this service as 80% for current DAO members (summarizing events, explaining upcoming events, giving simple overview of Props and Prop House, sharing fun things being built in Lil Nouns each week). And 20% on spreading the gospel of Lil Nouns outside of our world.
Maybe I need to flip that.
And focus 80% (majority) on bringing external communities *into* the Lil Nouniverse.
I don’t know. I am stuck.
And feel like I had good momentum until the Lil Nounders voted against the majority, and asked me to “reorient newsletter/media strategy”. They haven’t given much more than that.
So I’d love for suggestions!
I will spend the week thinking about the best path forward and propose a couple of plans. But I am very open-minded.
Let me know what you think by either replying here, messaging me in the Lil Nouns Discord, DM’ing me on Twitter or tweeting at @LilNounsNews on Twitter.
Thank you for all the support for these last 33 weeks! I really appreciate each one of you.
See you next sunday,
Lil Saturn
